Maintenance Manager /Supervisor vacancy

Due to continued growth of our client, applications are invited for the position of Maintenance Manager


Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Maintenance Manager will be a member of the Management team and must work effectively with all functional managers and team leaders to achieve company goals.


Role: To develop with others reliable and efficient equipment performance and to support target production efficiency in a lean manufacturing environment.


1. Responsible to the Operations Manager for achieving continuous improvement in reliability of equipment and condition of the facility, consistent with specified food safety, quality and customer standards. The role is a hands - on role with plus 50% of time spent on the factory.


2. Responsible for the effective management of a team of maintenance technicians. S/he will manage and develop team members competence and performance so that they contribute effectively to achievement of team goals.


3. Contribute to establishment of and implement Standard Operating Procedures


4. Introduce and maintain best practice.


5. Safety: Develop and ensure compliance to the site safety procedures and programs. Maintain all required safety protocols and standards on daily basis.


6. Cost Management: Operate within budget and contribute effectively to our continuous cost reduction program


The person will be a strong assertive character, technically competent, hands -on (be willing to work on the tools) open, honest, intelligent, motivated, organized and enjoy working in a challenging team environment and will be a good communicator with excellent co-ordination and presentation skills, both verbal and written. Demonstrated high quality workmanship, commitment and leadership in their current role. Commands respect of colleagues and subordinates and can get their commitment to support efforts to achieve team goals. Competent knowledge of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic devices and control systems. Competent ability to install and maintain replacement components in electrical and mechanical systems. Competent knowledge of planned maintenance systems/ Pemac.
