Process/Maintenance Engineer

Responsible for weekend technical support in the FILM processes:
o Technical troubleshooting. (Mech/Elec)
o Controls & Software support.
Design & implement technical training programme to ensure w/e shift is self-sufficient in all required areas after ramp.
On-site Engineering lead for W/E FILM escalations.
This will be a 'hands-on' role where the successful candidate will be expected to support maintenance and engineering activities in the FILM area, as well as coordinate the management and administration of the shift team.
Constant engagement with all direct reports and Operations management to promote and develop a strong team culture on the shift.
Provide motivational and effective leadership and direction to ensure the business unit meets its objectives.
Responsible for the work organisation and allocation of a Maintenance Team of approx. 6 shift maintenance technicians.
Plan and direct the w/e FILM maintenance technician's midweek workload and deployment to align with ongoing business priorities: balance the operational requirements of the area with the resources available to ensure prioritisation of work and achievement of key metrics.
Ensure ongoing self and team development through effective performance management reviews and individual development and training plans.
Adhere to, and implement, Company and Statutory Hygiene, GMP, Quality, Safety and Environmental policies and directives.
Principal Accountabilities:
· Provide technical assistance and expertise to maintenance technicians and operations management: assist in analysing, troubleshooting and rectifying root-cause of plant/equipment failures.
· Constant hands-on liaison with Shift Operations Managers to ensure prioritisation and communication of all engineering issues.
· Ensure comprehensive handover between shifts and across functions.
Develop & implement ongoing, effective, training for all direct reports to ensure best
· utilisation and availability of expertise.
· Responsible for ensuring adequate manning levels on each shift. Balance these levels through judicious use of Team Cross-Skills, stand-by maintenance technicians, ESMS maintenance technicians and/or Overtime Hours as appropriate & approved.
· Ongoing liaison with Process Engineering to ensure prioritisation and communication of FILM engineering initiatives and issues.
· Ensure ongoing reporting and recording of all relevant information by direct reports to ensure correct measurement of relevant metrics.
· Ensure effective and efficient usage of spare parts and consumables from the Engineering Stores: responsible for W/E emergency access to the Engineering Stores.
· Carry out annual Performance Reviews for all direct reports incorporating Individual Development Plans.
· Participate in cross-functional teams as required to address specific production or project goals.
· Accountable for the organising, approval, reporting and tracking of direct report's working hours, holidays, absences and illnesses through the CORE time management system: track and report to establish trends regarding Overtime/Reserve Hr Working, Absenteeism, Illness, Holiday Cover etc as appropriate.
