Our client, a global pharmaceutical company, is currently recruiting for a Director of Technical Services to join its Irish corporate team

Overview

Provide leadership and guidance to the Technical Services Departments across the 6 solid dose sites and 1 liquid facilities

Ensures that the Technical Services requirements of the business are effectively established and maintained

Has the responsibility and independent authority to make all decisions related to Technical Service Group

Role/Opportunity:

Lead the Project Management of all new and existing product projects, including planning and tracking of all ongoing Technical Services projects.
Support the transfer of process and methods into site.
Scale up of R&D projects.
Work with R&D at development stage to ensure that products and processes are developed to suit commercial equipment.
Take ownership of any OOS that site ops and quality teams can not solve.
To co-ordinate on multi-site Technology Transfer projects
To manage the formulae and batch manufacturing procedures, where applicable taking responsibility for specific production personnel members for the required period of time.
Existing Product and Process Troubleshooting including the timely resolution of in-process material and finished product related technical issues and making recommendations for preventative action on reported Process Deviations and Incidents.
Management of the ongoing Process Optimisation in terms of evaluation of process / procedural efficiencies and quality levels over a period of time, aiming at continuous improvement.
An active role in the Training and Development of Production Personnel training in relation to
New Process technology or procedural changes on existing technology.

Skills/Experience

Degree ideally in a Scientific discipline
8/10 years plus experience in a similar position leading a Technical Services Team
with expertise in solid dose technologies
