full time Head of Environmental

Candidate Profile:



  • 10 years of (minimum) experience working for private companies and public administration/agencies - internally and/or as a consultant - in industrial sector (preferably FMCG / Pharma sector).
  • Experience in the Food sector is preferable
  • Deep experience in managing and analysing the technical activities with impact on the environment, such as emissions, waste, contamination, water, noise, etc.
  • Experience in official processes regarding the environmental constraints at local, national and European level (i.e. audit, certifications, licenses, etc.)
  • National and international projects, covering Ireland and other countries.


Education:



  • Engineer - Preferably Industrial or Chemistry
  • Additional specific studies (Master or similar) regarding environment, noise, etc.
  • Knowledge on basic legislation and regulatory issues affecting environmental obligations.



Internal Organization:



  • Reporting into the Production Director (Ireland HQ).
  • In coordination with Engineering Director (new projects) and the rest of areas implied (i.e. Energy Management, Legal, Financial, Communication, etc.) depending on the activities.
  • The direct team (persons in charge, working on site at the power plants): Station Managers and Station Chemical/Environmental Coordinators.



Requirements:



  • Definition and development of the company's ?Environmental Strategic Plan?, as a result of the revision and improvement of current environmental policy, processes, procedures documentation, etc. already in place at the industrial sites.
  • Updating and improving the basic concepts included in the current IPPC Licenses (sites to be decommissioned, sites to stand as they are, new projects).
  • Revision the current contracts, covering external services regarding environmental issues. Optimizing the overall cost and management of the subcontractors activities.
  • Environmental certification for all sites, and subsequent surveillance and renew audits.
  • Coordination of the implementation on the systems and applications collecting and storing the environmental measurements of critical parameters, to optimize the available information and the reporting generation.
  • Follow up of the legislation updates and the impact on the activity, assuring that all requirements and always considered and respected.
  • Definition and development of the company's ?Corporate ?Sustainability Strategic Plan? (PES 2008-2012).
  • Internal Reporting: daily, monthly, annual or specific reports.
