Job Description
A senior opportunity for a Logistics Operations Manager who will be responsible for the Distribution Centre operations across 5 sites in the EMEA has now become available.
Roles/Responsibilities
- Responsibility for the commercial and operational management of Logistics partners in the EMEA region, ensuring that agreed service levels and cost targets are met.
- Management and responsibility for inventory and vendor consigned stock held in the various sites.
- Ensure quarterly, monthly, weekly and daily performance reviews are in place for all sites supported by management and operational reporting.
- Hold thorough reviews in advance of every new product introduction (NPI) and Quarter End close to ensure sufficient receiving, storage, pick and pack capacity is in place.
- Develop contingency plans to support business in case of performance issues.
- Manage teams in multiple countries responsible for the supplier performance, inventory control and commercial aspects.
- Contribute to the wider operations organisation by being a key influencer in general planning and execution
Skills/Experience
- Intending candidates should have at least 5 years experience in a senior Logistics role.
- You should be an experienced and effective people-manager and have previous experience of managing teams remotely.
- A large degree of commercial focus is absolutely essential as this requires the management of a operations budget in excess of ?25m.
- Candidates must be able to display natural leadership skills and be highly effective communicators.
Education / Professional Qualifications
- A third level qualification in Business, with a focus on Logistics or Supply Chain is required.
- Applications are especially welcome from MBA graduates with a relevant industry background in high volume/retail-like logistics
