Motor/Personal Injury Claims Team Leader

Job Description

Reporting to the Motor Claims Manager, you will be required to mentor, lead and performance manage a team of 8-10 motor claims negotiators and possess the ability to handle all escalated queries or issues as they arise.

Roles/Responsibilities

• To develop the Motor Claims Unit in accordance with the company's plan and in close consultation with the Motor Claims Manager.
  
• To provide support to the Motor Claims Manager and act as the de-facto manager in his/her absence.
  
• To provide technical support and appropriate mentoring to your team of Claims Negotiators and to ensure that claims notifications are acted upon in an appropriate and timely manner.
  
• To ensure that the team/individual settlement targets are met and that the team is kept motivated throughout the claims handling process.
  
• To monitor claims trends and market activities and take appropriate steps in consultation with your manager.
  
• To deal with all referrals, quality audits and cheque authorisations.

Skills/Experience

Ideally you should have at least five years motor/personal injury claims experience, including some form of senior or team leader responsibilities. You should be capable of leading and motivating a team of between 8-10 claims negotiators and be seen as an authority in all things related to Motor claims.

Education / Professional Qualifications

Ideally you should be either grandfathered with full CPD hours progress to date or be fully CIP qualified or within 1-2 exams of completion.
