Project Manager - Cork

Our client based in Cork are urgently looking to recruit a Project Manager for a 12 month fixed term contract. A competitive salary of €50k is being offering depending on experience. The successful candidate must be flexible as this role involves travel to Europe is essential, initially 2 days per week with the remainder of the week being spent in the Cork office.
The role of the Project Manager is to manage the implementation of a major strategic business win, within the companies European Network. The key area of responsibility is to deliver the project from start to finish. The role covers five main areas including project management, leadership, business judgement, communication and analysis. To be successful in this position you will demonstrate strengths in all these areas coupled with high levels of motivation, organisation and understanding when it comes to solving complex issues.
Key Accountabilities
-Co-ordinate project initiation with customer to check and approve project specifications and schedule
- Manage, organise, coordinate and monitor the activities and functions of the project in cooperation with the customer, internal departments, outside agencies and contractors
- Develop and maintain thorough understanding of the customer profile and requirements
- Ensure all customer issues are resolved and responded to in a proactive timely manner
- Analyse and prepare written reports on project performance using qualitative analyses / project management techniques
- Develop program and project budgets, schedules, work plans, labour utilisation and cost estimates / projections
-Assist and participate as requested in regular review of SOPs to ensure thay remain relevant, current and are being followed.
Education / Qualifications
- An appropriate professional qualification in Project Management
- Strong knowledge and usage of IT applications
Experience
- Experience in logistics and distribution will be a added advantage
- Proven project management skills
- Customer management skills
- Process design
- Good decision making skills
- Ability to see opportunity, risk and challenges
