The underwriter is responsible for underwriting new business, renewals and mid term adjustments in accordance with the companies underwriting guidelines. In addition, responsibility extends to assisting with the development and management of your portfolio of renewals and new business and related correspondence.
Requirements
CIP preferable but not essential
3-5 years minimum commercial underwriting experience in an insurance company environment, which would include writing EL/PL, PPL, Property and BI lines is a pre-requisite.
Experience in underwriting Technology and Medical Technology risks would be an advantage though not essential. Experienced in underwriting Professional Indemnity and Computer and Telecommunication risks would also be advantageous.
Proven Relationship management skills are essential for success in this role, as is a good network and profile within the broker market. A proactive and positive approach to Customer Service is essential.
Proven time management skills, highly computer literate, a self-starter who works well as a collaborative team player are also essential criteria for success in this role.
You will be responsible for the maintenance of accurate files/documentation.
