An Irish joint venture company has an exciting opportunity for a student actuary with three years Life or Pensions experience within their Product Development team.





Job Description





Reporting to the Senior Product Development Actuary, the principle functions of this role will be:




To work with the Product Development Actuary in the development of new products



To improve the pricing process for variable annuity products



Roles/Responsibilities




  • Profit testing and financial projections on product development initiatives
  • Liaison with Product and Marketing team for product implementation and launch
  • Analysis of customer and distribution requirements regarding new product developments
  • Maintain up to date technical knowledge of the variable annuity market and identify opportunities for business growth
  • Working closely with the Paris based hedging team, develop a thorough understanding of the hedging strategies appropriate for variable annuities;
  • Manage stochastic models relating to variable annuity products
  • Provide actuarial assistance in production of policy documentation
  • Analysis of company experience to aid assumption setting process





Skills/Experience




  • A minimum of three years + in a product development environment.
  • Knowledge of unit-linked and tracker bond products preferable, and of variable annuities an advantage
  • Excel, Access, Moses or Prophet experience a definite advantage.



Education / Professional Qualifications


A Part or Nearly qualified actuary would be the ideal fit for this position.

  • Ability to draft reports on a range of the company's activities
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Ability to forge effective working relationships with internal and external contacts
  • Effective communication skills
  • Ability to speak Italian would be an advantage, but is not essential
