My client is a leading a meat processing firm and is seeking a strong operations manager/factory manager to join their busy team.

This role will be reporting to directly to the general manager.

Responsibilities of the role include: -

• Provide leadership and direct manufacturing activities from Abattoir to final processing, including health & safety, quality management and stock management.


• Implementation of production plans and continuous improvement initiatives to ensure achievement of operational targets.


• Promote a culture of discipline in cost control and productivity, ensuring maximum focus across all manufacturing activities based on established KPI (Key Performance Indicator) model.


• Assume responsibility for site maintenance in addition to plant & equipment procurement ensuring cost effectiveness and rigorous implementation of preventative maintenance programme.


• Evaluate, update and improve operating procedures for the production department in order to achieve maximum productivity and quality and ensuring full compliance to regulatory, customer and in-house standards.


• Focus on energy and disposal costs, effluent water usage. Explore/bring forward new initiatives to manage this cost area.


• Managing and motivating production personnel for maximum performance.


• Be conversant and technically familiar with modern meat processing equipment and recent advances in this area.

Ideally the successfull candidate should have solid expereince in a similar foods environment.
