full time Audit Manager - Asset Management

The Dublin Financial Services practice consists of 337 professionals, including 242 professionals dedicated to audit and the majority of these professionals are dedicated to the asset management industry. The Dublin practice is a leading provider of assurance services to asset management companies, including regulated mutual funds, offshore funds, hedge funds, private equity funds, fund of funds, as well as investment managers and administrators.


Their audit approach focuses on the identification and testing of the client's internal controls, including information technology controls at the administrator and the investment manager level.

Role & Responsibilities:


As a Audit Manager you will have the following responsibilities:



  • Manage a portfolio of asset management audit clients and deliver the audit opinion within the client deadline.
  • Identify areas of risk within clients' businesses, define the appropriate audit approach, know when to consult / refer upwards and apply judgment by effective risk appraisal of all work targeted and undertaken.
  • Ensure compliance with internal (methodology and risk management) and external (regulatory) requirements.
  • Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of current auditing techniques.
  • Manage and develop multiple client relationships, using in-depth knowledge of the client to anticipate and address complex issues, thereby becoming recognised as a trusted advisor.

  • Pro-active leader of teams, ensure team members are properly managed and motivated and ensure staff needs, including training and development, are identified and acted upon.

  • Portray a clear sense of vision and direction and promotes the Firm's core values.

  • Create a climate of high performance in the team take pride and produce outstanding effort and dedication.

  • Identify and drive forward initiatives which have made a difference either internally and/or externally at clients.

  • Responsible for team and individual performance appraisal and development.

  • Manage and capture sharing of knowledge from assignments.

  • Recruit, counsel, coach and mentor staff.

Skills & Experience:


Candidate must have a proven track record of outstanding performance and display a high level of people & business skills within the Financial Services industry.


Requirements:



  • Qualified Accountant - ACA, ACCA, CPA qualified
  • Relevant management experience, with at least 3 years pqe experience
  • Relevant financial services experience, ideally focused on the hedge fund industry. Experience of mutual funds / banking industry may suffice.
  • Experience with IFRS, US Gaap and the AICPA guide to Investment Companies ideal but not essential.
  • Fluent English speaker with highest level of written & oral communications skills.
  • Thorough knowledge of audit methodology / gamx / auditing techniques
  • Proven track record with developing & maintaining multiple client relationships.
  • Dedication to teamwork and leadership
