freelance Cost Accountant - Contract

Job Description


They currently have a vacancy for an experienced cost Accountant to join their business. This position will be an initial 9 month contract and will require a candidate who is highly experienced in inventory accounting.



Roles/Responsibilities



The main duties of this cost accountant role will include:



  • Designing and implementing the cost accounting system and processes
  • Ensure all inventory and standard costing controls are implemented and adhered to.
  • Develop and implement inventory financial and operational controls.
  • Develop operational reporting tools
  • Be the point of contact and cost accounting expert for both the implementation team and the auditors.



Skills/Experience



To be considered for this role you must have



  • an extensive background in mangement / cost accounting.
  • be highly experienced in inventory accounting & contols
  • have had prior exposure to SOX and be familiar with compliance issues.
  • Preferably worked in a multi-national manufacturing facility



Education / Professional Qualifications




  • Qualified Accountant with 3/5 years post qualified experience.
