Shared Services Accountant

Our client is an expanding bio-pharmaceutical organisation which is in the process of establishing its Cork based International Finance Centre.

Job Description:

As a result of pending country migrations a requirement has arisen for an experienced Financial Accountant to help lead the initial phase of the start-up process.

Roles / Responsibilities:

• Performs and possibly supervises accounting functions and preparation of reports and statistics detailing financial results
  
• Coordinates schedules, activities and reports with other departments
  
• Maintains, reconciles and resolves P&L and balance sheet ledger accounts
  
• Responsible for preparing analysis and schedules for management as well as internal and external auditors
  
• Frequently interacts with peers, and functional group members at various management levels in the Shared Services Centre, the countries serviced, and Corporate and International HQ
  
• Directly supports country Finance Heads and the in-country Financial Planning & Analysis staff through preparation of the monthly close process including preparation of related financial statements and supporting documents in compliance with the monthly financial reporting SOP specific to European Operations

Skills / Experience:

• Strong interpersonal and communications skills are required with excellent written, verbal and analytical skills are required
  
• Working knowledge and experience of JD Edwards or similar integrated software product is necessary
  
• Must be able to apply accounting knowledge to day-to-day operations and assigned projects
  
• Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to changing, fast paced environment

Education / Professional Qualifications:

• Qualified Accountant required
  
• 1-3 years PQE preferably within a multinational shared services environment
