Procurement Manager IT

Job Description

Our Financial Services is seeking a highly experienced procurement manager to maximize potential procurement cost savings in the IT Category through the implementation of supplier contracts, managing key supplier relationships and managing the overall supply chain. Your primary objective is to maximize the potential procurement cost savings in the IT Category. The role includes sourcing process where you will lead end-to-end sourcing activities to implement supplier contracts.

Roles/Responsibilities

Main Responsibilities:

• Category Leadership
  
• Define the IT sourcing strategy
  
• Develop the annual sourcing plan
  
• Work with others to identify potential procurement cost savings

Key objectives of role

• Establish a Cross-Functional Sourcing Team, including key stakeholders, to participate in the sourcing process.
  
• Execute tendering processes as required - & negotiate and complete of contracts.
  
• Manage of supplier relationships, including the facilitation of an annual strategic performance review with key suppliers and managing the resolution of escalated supply or performance issues.
  
• Maintaining an understanding of external best practices, monitoring trends of new developments within the global procurement field and lead change as appropriate.
  
• Providing specialist technical input into relevant discussions/design issues.

Skills/Experience

• Minimum 4 years procurement management experience ? ideally across an IT budget
  
• Strong expertise and knowledge of assigned spend categories, including relevant knowledge of the sourcing techniques, commercial scenarios, the market place, best practices and emerging trends.
  
• Extensive and proven negotiation skills & advanced commercial acumen
  Strong interpersonal and relationship-management skills.
  
• Excellent written and oral communications skills - including presentation skills
  
• Working Knowledge of SAP

Education / Professional Qualifications

• Third level degree qualification desireable
