Life Actuary -Pricing/Reserving/Modeling

Job Description

Reporting to the Chief Actuary, the successful jobholder will be responsible for the development and delivery of reserving, pricing and capital modelling for multiple jurisdictions and business classes. Will also have one direct report (trainee actuary).

Roles/Responsibilities

Review develop and maintain the reserving approach and processes for all major classes of business

Support financial and regulatory reporting by recommending appropriate reserve levels and providing input on capital management issues

Review all new business opportunities to ensure they meet Pricing and Underwriting Guidelines

Actuarial Review of quarterly technical results

Complete regulatory solvency calculations and prepare forecasts of solvency positions

Sensitivity testing of the company's investment portfolio and embedded derivatives to ensure sufficient regulatory capital is maintained at all times

Track Solvency 2 developments and input into development of the Internal Capital Model, with focus on Investment risks and pillar 2 operational risks

Monitoring of Investment, pandemic, pricing and reserving risk and implementation of strategies to appropriately address and mitigate these risks where practical

Skills/Experience

• A qualified Actuary with appropriate experience in the Life Insurance Industry, and exposure to International markets and products
  
• Requires in-depth knowledge of actuarial concepts and methods regarding rate and reserve analyses.
  
• Requires the ability to work with little or no supervision and have the ability and initiative to develop rate, product and reserve strategies independently
  
• Experience of reinsurance operations and structures is desirable

Education / Professional Qualifications

A fully qualified Actuary with a minimum of four years post qualifcation experience within the Life sector.
