freelance Senior Pensions Administrator

Working as senior member of a small team you will be responsible for providing a reliable and high standard of administration to an agreed portfolio of high value clients and will act as the point of contact for those clients. You will also deputize for the Team Leader in his/her absence.


Key Responsibilities



You will be involved in the delivery of service to a designated portfolio of clients within agreed service levels including timeliness and quality.



Clients


• Ensure that all clients registered administrator requirements are met.


• Ensure Consultant and/or Team Leader are aware of any administration or service issues that arise.


• Accurately and efficiently calculate member benefits and take responsibility for more complex benefit transactions.


• Promptly and efficiently communicate with clients and members demonstrating a full understanding of the client's needs


• In conjunction with Team Leader ensure that all annual events are planned and carried out in accordance with agreed timetables


• Liaise professionally with other third parties


• Attend annual review meetings with clients.


• Maintain personal regular communication with clients, clarify requests when necessary.


• Act as reference point and source of technical expertise for the team


• Checking and peer reviewing the work of colleagues where appropriate



Finance


• Refer potential income generating opportunities to relevant consultant


• Refer potential new client referrals to Business Development team.


• Be aware of the charging structures of clients


• Assist Team Leader in considering ways to improve service delivery



Process


• Understand and follow all standard processes and procedures, give input to improve processes to generate efficiencies.


• Accurately record own time spent in accordance with standard procedures


• Manage client bank accounts effectively and efficiently


• Use the IT systems available to gain processing efficiency


• Update and maintain compliance and other work records.



Teamworking


• Work effectively within the team as a senior member, supporting other colleagues on an ongoing basis.


• Take responsibility for on the job training of team members.


• Give and receive constructive feedback as appropriate


• Attend and participate in team meetings


• Attend and participate in appraisal process


Requirements


Leaving Certificate or equivalent, Bachelors degree in relevant discipline preferred.


Completion of relevant pension qualification - QFA or Pensions Diploma preferred.


5-7 years of progressive pensions administration experience in a customer focused environment.



Technical Competencies


Administrative - handles complex administration issues, provides technical expertise on such transactions to team members.


Processes - understands and follows complex processes and procedures; looks at ways to improve processes to generate greater efficiencies.


Systems - understands and utilizes the full functioning capabilities of computerised Pensions administration system


Pensions - understands and utilizes technical pensions knowledge learned through education and job experience



Salary depends on experience
