Lean Specialist Leader (Operations Support Leader) required for leading Cork based regulated Manufacturing Multinational.




Job Description



Operations Support Leader (Lean Expert)
The role involves project work with the introduction and implementation of lean manufacturing tools and principles and developing these.




Roles/Responsibilities





  • Introduction of lean manufacturing principles and tools.
  • Bringing lean manufacturing practices to a benchmark standard.
  • Facilitate a training program in lean fundamentals.
  • Identify opportunities for and facilitate Kaizen events.
  • Introduce and maintain comprehensive, usable and measured systems of capacity modelling, resource modelling, and Value stream mapping.
  • Identify and implement through the operations, maintenance and engineering teams opportunities for increasing the productivity KPI
  • Take ownership for the further development of continuous improvement processes.
  • Coordinate the operations input to engineering projects, capacity analysis, cycle times, etc.
  • Identify and deliver on projects which have an agreed cost saving benefit for the facility
  • Contribute to the manufacturing overhead and capital planning processes for the facility



Skills/Experience




  • A degree in engineering or an operations related discipline.
  • A min of 5 years exp in a manufacturing environment with direct responsibility for a lean manufacturing program.
  • Formal training in lean manufacturing would be a distinct advantage
  • Strong leadership and ex communication skills within a team environment.
  • Able to demonstrate a past history of successful project management.
  • Skilled communicator who can influence people to achieve agreed goals.
  • Previous people management experience is considered an advantage
  • Strong analytical skills and will need to have good numerical ability.
