The main responsibilities for the Health & Safety Manager are as follows:

Lead the site H&S team providing effective and responsive H&S support to operations.

Develop a H&S strategy with the H&S team, site management team and operations functions while ensuring alignment with their business strategy. Translate strategy into policies, procedures and initiatives within the business unit which will ensure that the facility operates to the highest standards.

Develop and implement a robust and effective health and safety management system to support the site unit H&S goals and business needs.

Provide technical support and leadership to the business unit in the areas of process safety, machine safety, manual handling, emergency response, occ health, industrial hygiene.

Develop and review safe work place practices and ensure risk assessments are carried out on new and existing processes on an ongoing basis.

Support the implementation of the sites H&S strategy while ensuring alignment.

Ensure all documentation is prepared and updated in line with an all reg guidelines and promotes full compliance to all H&S requirements.

Manage site interactions with internal and external H&S auditors and regulators.

Provide project management leadership to ensure effective planning and timely execution of all agreed H&S projects within the business unit.

Coach and develop the operations team.

Develop and sustain an environment of continuous improvement through active implementation of process excellent and lead six sigma methodologies.

Prepare budgets and forecasts for H&S discretionary spend resources and key business performance indicators.

To be considered for the role you must have the following:

You must have a strong understanding and in-depth knowledge of H&S manufacturing environment.

You must have a strong understanding and in-depth knowledge of H&S regulatory requirements and technical codes of practice.

Educational Requirements:

Be educated to degree level or equivalent in an engineering or science discipline. A post grad qualification ni H&S would be an advantage.
