Interesting conference. It is undoubted that the new wave of recruitment has arrived in the form of Social Media; including LinkedIn and Yahoo. Long since are the days of 20% recruitment costs incurred by employers at traditional agencies. Smaller SMEs and in particular pioneering organisations tend to recruit via Flat Fee Recruitment Agencies, and pay a one off lower cost upon successfully completing the hire. As an entrepreneur myself this is the current and most cost effective standard for me. However, ironing out all the confidentiality, privacy and trust issues, and with even lower/nominal costs, recruitment via Social Media might be popular and successful in the near future.
