500 Jobs Recruitment Drive by the Dublin Airport

Wednesday, July 7th, 2010

Not that many companies make the announcements of hiring 500 staff, and really doing it in the short space of time. Usually the recruitment PR lately sounds like XWZ Company is announcing the plan to hire 200 new staff, and then in the small print it also says it is a plan for the next 5 years, while in the first year it will hire 12 staff, and first one and a half positions will be announced immediately!

Well not the Dublin Airport! They really do need to fill the new Terminal 2 with staff shortly, and they need hundreds of people to run that think 24/7.

Irish Jobs Market site has hosted a recruitment site for Dublin Airport Jobs. An announcement on TV covered by all the media brought 10.000 people and more each day after the announcement. Within a week the jobs had to be taken down – such was the amount of applications.

Jobs Site: Page Sculpting?

Monday, September 29th, 2008

In his so simple jet excellent article Vladimir walks us trough SEO for WordPress – Page Sculpting. Although not many job sites are published on WordPress (but there are some like Sales Jobs in Ireland and Jobs Finance) the same principle of the appropriate usage of the NOFOLOW tag attribute should work on the jobs boards as well.

How to use Page Sculpting on the Jobs Site?

There are number of the pages on the Jobs Sites that should not necessarily pass the ‘link juice’ to the internal page they are linking to. In the same time there is a number of pages that would benefit from the inbound links.

Pages that should get ‘behind’ the NOFOLOW:
Terms and Conditions
About
Contact
Help
And all the other pages that do not contain your main keywords. The Jobs Site has a natural list of keywords that are based on the searching patterns of the job hunters.

The search phrases are like:
Jobs
Jobs in Ireland
Irish Jobs
Jobs Ireland
Ireland Jobs
Dublin Jobs
Cork IT Jobs

The jobs site will naturally acquire the majority of its traffic by being ranked high for such phrases. There is also a Long Tail theory, but it brings too large number of keywords into the game that the Page Sculpting can be properly used for.

Would it be the best approach to implement the Page Sculpting into the Jobs Site in the way that the NOFOLOW is inserted into the very much every internal link but those linking to the pages that are optimised for the main search phrases?

Or is the better way of implementing Page Sculpting into the Jobs Site?
